The Farm

Home

Many of the animals on the farm become firm favourites and all have their own, often very strong, characters.

We have two border collies, Pip and Skye, who enjoy helping us with our sheep work. Pip, below, is showing great concentration working a group of sheep.

Milly and Molly, above centre, came to Hetton North only a few days old from a local dairy farm. They were bottle fed and many guests will have fond memories of giving them their daily bottles of milk.

We have many different breeds of cattle on the farm. The cows traditionally have been Limousin cross or Aberdeen Angus cross, which are put to a Charolais bull each year. We also have a small herd of pedigree Charolais cattle in order to breed our own bulls.

We also have an Aberdeen Angus bull, above right, and some Belgian Blue cows which enable us to breed our own replacement cows.
